The Developments in Administration (DinA) journal is thrilled to announce the release of its highly anticipated fifth volume, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to providing a platform for underrepresented material, authors, and institutions in the realm of public administration.

The DinA journal stands at the intersection of public administration, development studies, and area studies, naturally open to critical theoretical perspectives and Southern epistemologies to analyze fresh empirical material. This volume, the third since the journal's revitalization in 2021, solidifies its identity with an exclusive focus on the African continent.

The articles delve into different public governance themes, including strategies employed by trade unions and governments in the educational sector in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the impact of New Public Management (NPM) financial reforms on local government performance in Cameroon, strategies to combat corruption in Kenya during the COVID-19 pandemic, a comparative study on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) targets in Ethiopia and Tanzania, and an analysis of the financial management reforms in Cameroon.

"This volume not only contributes valuable insights into the diverse challenges and triumphs across the African continent but also serves as a precursor to the upcoming IIAS-KSG Mombasa Conference 2024, which will explore the theme of International Collaborative Governance from February 26-29," said Dr. Steve Troupin, Managing Editor of the journal and IIAS Director of Projects and Collaborations. 

DinA has undergone significant enhancements, including a transition to the PKP platform, implementation of plagiarism checks, double-blind peer review, and adoption of open access licenses. The journal now incorporates authors processing charges in membership contributions and conference registration fees, providing copyediting services to authors, with the IIAS Scientific Committee serving as the Editorial Board.

Looking ahead, DinA aims to secure inclusion in the Directory of Open Access Journals, increase submissions from external sources, and achieve a biannual publication schedule.
